Advanced semiconductors are critical to making the energy transition required for e-mobility, sustainable energy generation and efficient energy consumption. Entire industries are being disrupted by these devices which are often just the size of a fingernail.
Rob Weber (W/ENG '82) Product Line Director for Microchip Technology’s Silicon Carbide business unit, will share with us his insights on these critical components and discuss the potential for advanced semiconductors to further improve the way we live. Previously, Mr. Weber was the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of AgileSwitch® LLC, a power electronics firm acquired by Microchip Technology in 2019 that produced innovative electronic technology (gate drivers) used in renewable energy and e-transportation applications.
